The “Hi” and “Welcome” post . . .

Post number one and I am happy to be back blogging. Some of my older friends may recall my days as InstaMarv, when I first started sharing stats, stories and endless updates about golf.

I completed my BA of Journalism at Thompson Rivers University in December and will walk the stage with my classmates in the spring. Only journalism-related pages will be found here, which I will add to as I embark on my new career. I am actively pursuing work as either a reporter, photographer, copyeditor or fact-checker. I’m open to any suggestions for opportunities in these areas.

In my early blogging days, I posted photographs taken with point-and-shoot cameras. Those days are long gone but my love affair with photography is not. Through the years, I’ve grown as a photographer and am comfortable with almost every type of shoot. (Though, like all photographers, I feel as if I never have enough equipment and/or time to spend doing it.)

This is my first time working with WordPress, so be gentle as I navigate my way toward something visually interesting.

I have decided not to post my resume online but am more than happy to email it to those with employment offers/leads: my contact info is in the “About” page.

Thanks for stopping by . . . post number two will be of some substance, I assure you.
