Red pier rebuild – Village of Chase

The red pier is no more on the shores of Little Shuswap Lake in the Village of Chase. Removal of the landmark (I’m tempted to call it a watermark) took less than two days.

Locals have been carting away pieces of the old structure for various household projects. One man was going to use part of it to repair stairs at the back of his home.

Steel pylons being installed to replace wooden ones for the new pier in Chase, B.C. Saturday, Feb. 9. The new pier will be slightly wider and feature a concrete walkway strong enough to drive service vehicles on.
